The Subversive Eye

I’ve just returned from St. Petersburg, where the Exhibition, The Subversive Eye: Surrealist and Experimental Photography from the David Raymond Collection just opened at The Dali Museum. Needless to say, I am beyond honored to have my collection shown there. The week was a whirlwind of talks, walk throughs, press events and parties. The museum and their team went all out to create what I call, “a holy shit” experience. In addition, they published a remarkable catalog. I cannot say enough about the museum, it’s staff, location, the permanent collection, the building, their use of technology and more. Here is a link to the description of the show.

This was a nice piece done on the exhibition:

Before heading to St. Petersburg, I had the honor of speaking with Dr. William Jeffett and Prof. Dawn Ades at the International Society for the Study of Surrealism conference in Paris about my collection and the upcoming show. We spoke to a full house! It was amazing and an honor.
